In my search for info about metal roofing, I turned this up and thought it was cool:

It's an easy way to make shingles out of aluminum cans. Great for chicken coops and such, not so much for houses (even *I* don't drink that much Dr.Pepper). It's already got me thinking about how to adapt it for use in solar heaters and parabolic reflectors (yes, I want my own Big Ear dish).
Wasn't sure where to post this. Economics seemed the best currently existing forum, though there had been talk of chickens recently on the chat one. All that and I still haven't found good info on what a metal roof will actually cost me. I'll probably be sticking to asphalt anyway.
